An 20-Plus Year Journey to Unleash The HorrorNerd Experience
It all started when Lorelei (aka L.K. The HorrorNerd) was just a child experiencing her first ever horror films: Friday The 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street and Bram Stoker's Dracula in the midst of the early 1990s, when VHS tapes were still a thing and of course, these big-ass chunky VCRs that accommadated the VHS tapes of the past.
Over the years, L.K. the HorrorNerd would embark on a journey, diving deep into the horror and sci-fi genre, along with its "sister sub-genres", ranging from psychological horror to slashers, from paranormal to found footage, from zombies to vampires and beyond, until one day, she found her calling as a aspiring young indie horror filmmaker, director, producer, screenwriter and actress by originally starting out as a background extra actress in several films playing as a zombie in the masses, then eventually launching her first ever short indie horror comedy slasher film with her late brother, thus having submitted it to a local film festival and then another one for high school students at the time. She launched her own indie horror film production studio company of what was eventually going to become Oconeth Studios today.
Since her late brother's passing, and the loss of her late wife and daugther, she's been on a journey traveling the world, figuring things out along the way and rejuenvating her lifelong love and passion for all things horror, and how she was able to heal through horror content creation, gaming, reviews, etc. and eventually meeting Yanni of The Macabre Tavern to form the brand new HorrorNerd Experience podcast series, set to launch its second season on October 1st, 2024.
After a long and grueling first season trying to get The HorrorNerd Experience off the ground and running starting back in the Fall of 2023, and a recent summer tour this year in the Summer of 2024, L.K. the HorrorNerd and Yanni finally came together to film, record, produce and edit all new episodes this Fall.
The HorrorNerd Experience is based primarily in the New England area where L.K. The HorrorNerd resides, with a second homebase on the East Coast in North Carolina, where the co-host of The HorrorNerd Experience resides.
We focus on horror media discussions, covering topics from physical media to past gems/classics, from horror video games to horror TV shows, from horror books from some of the best authors/writers/poets in the world to the latest horror films that came out recently, we cover them all and do reviews, trailer reactions, gameplay experiences and more.
This is the LAST Horror podcast you'll ever listen to/watch! Enjoy the SCREAMS.
